Re: Resurrecting InkCut!
Is this already listed in the extensions gallery on the website? https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/=extension/ Not yet, because installing the extension is a bit fiddly still - OK for more advanced Inkscape users, but I'd first like to make that easy and documented before announcing the plugin more w...

Resurrecting InkCut!
The InkCut extension has long been the most advanced way to drive a cutter/plotter from Inkscape, but unfortunately became unmaintained. Good news! frmdstryr has been working on a rewrite, see the website at https://www.codelv.com/projects/inkcut/ and the code at http://github.com/codelv/inkcut . Th...

Resurrecting InkCut?
While I know InkCut has long been abandoned and it's exciting to see activity on the Export/Plot... extension front, I wonder if it'd make sense to revive InkCut? It seemed nice UI-wise (though the preview panel doesn't actually currently work for me) and mature in terms of supporting various printe...

Re: Inkscape and Inkcut v1.0
I tried the extention you suggested. I still have the following error message. This time I remarked the following: "could not open port". Traceback (most recent call last): File "plotter.py", line 227, in <module> e.affect() File "/usr/share/inkscape/extensions/inkex.py&quo...

Re: Inkscape and Inkcut v1.0
Actually we had a recent message on a different Inkscape forum, who was connected with a USB port, but the extension only offers serial port, for some reason. That seems rather odd to me, not to be able to accomodate both kinds of ports. Perhaps a bit offtopic as the OP's cable certainly seemed lik...

Vinyl cutter ignores 'Pin Up' commands
Hi! I've been experimenting with driving vinyl cutters with Inkscape. I have access to a Roland Camm-1 CX-24. When attaching it via the parallel port it and sending files that have been exported to HPGL to it, it works great! Over the parallel port it does not appear to work, I have yet to look into...
