I'm currently planning some designs that will likely be mocked up in Inkscape. Gathering ideas to do in them right now.

Re: Retreiving Fonts Used....

I don't know if it works in all viewers, but perhaps open the pdf and then read its properties. At least the pdf viewer I have(Evince), shows fonts used in an OpenOffice pdf. Not sure what OS you are in. If anything, perhaps I could try and get the font name for you.

Re: Achieving a dual background with inkscape

I imagine the best method would be to create the slanted rounded rectangle first, and then do a difference boolean to get the silhouette of the girl out, and then perhaps break the graphic apart and change the color of the top half.

Re: inserting images into messages

The problem with hosting them somewhere is that you can open a .svg file with a text editor and see usable information. My godaddy account renders them as text instead of images. That's a server configuration issue. Godaddy is obviously sending the wrong MIME type header to the client for SVG. They...

Re: inserting images into messages

I'd just suggest using "Export Bitmap" myself.

If anything, you could always post a link to the svg so that someone could test things out and see if they get the same results.

Re: inserting images into messages

dpi = dots per inch, not the zoom percentage. You can check the dpi that your graphic will have when you export as a bitmap.

Re: Typical Doc Size for Logo

One of the obvious benefits of inkscape and vectors is that if you need to, you can scale your logo up or down to the appropriate size, in the event you don't start at that dimension. Just be wary that stroke size won't scale uniformly, and you'll have to adjust each object stroke if you do a massiv...
