How to set default png export path for all images exported as batch from one svg file

When you are clicking on multiple objects and selecting "Export png Image" > "Batch Export tickbox" > "Export" is there a way to choose the directory path for all images exported via batch export from that one svg file? Any ideas? Using latest Ubuntu linux with Inkscape...

Re: Best way to reselect multiple objects

A nifty new feature. Looks good. Thanks. Oh but wait there is a small limitation of this new feature, one thing I wanted to do was that whenever I duplicate or copy an object I wanted it to automatically be part of the group, looks like this new method doesn't do that so if would have to be manually...

Re: Best way to reselect multiple objects

I've been using the method where you put a keyword in the object properties then use the "Find/Replace" dialogue on the right but I discovered something strange that might be a bug. So if you choose some text in the design and you right click > Object properties then if you write anything ...

Aligning to real measurements on a4 page

I am having a small issue and have a general question all about precise printing onto a page for the exact size. First I found that if I try to print directly from Inkscape the printout is misaligned and some is cut off from the left (is there a setting to fix this)? It works to export the file as p...

Re: Can I batch export multiple objects (groups) all at once to png files?

Yes that works, I installed the plugin then noticed the batch export there and thought it was added with the plugin but if it's the default setup yeah it works great :)

[solved] Can I batch export multiple objects (groups) all at once to png files?

If I have many objects on the page and I give each one an id field name is there any way to export them all at once each to a separate png file with the id field as filename. I can do it with the export dialog but only one at a time by selecting 'selection' then 'export'. Or is there some sort of sc...

Re: Is Inkscape ready to create svgs to replace images on websites?

Ok thanks, maybe I'll wait a bit longer. This is a slightly different thing but > Say for example you want to have an image that is replaced with another image and some text changes when a button is pressed (without reloading another page such as with php). I've been using a flash swf maker program ...

Is Inkscape ready to create svgs to replace images on websites?

Would it be too early to think of using Inkscape to create plain svgs (with text, vector graphic and raster image components) to replace images on websites (perhaps with fallbacks)? Would text in plain svg files be readable and used by search engines? Is it too early to have svg files as major parts...

Re: Inkscape 'jpg export extension' not appearing in extensions menu

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using Inkscape 0.91 r13725

Should I downgrade to a previous version? It might mess up my files though, does anyone have it working in .91?

Easiest way to render my svg with transparent background

I have an svg which I want to render as a png with a transparent background for an image fallback.

It's hand coded, when I open it in Inkscape it's all messed up, though it works in all browsers is there another way to render it with a transparent background to make a png?

Export to jpg or convert pngs to jpg with another program?

I want to use inkscape to make images for a website but I save them in separate subfolders and change the images often. I can only export to png which is no good for the web, I can't use imagemagick to convert them all to jpg at once because they are saved in different subfolders. I did try one inks...

Re: Where to buy/get fonts without DRM/pageview hassles?

Yes thanks, that's what I'm looking at now. Yes there are a lot of good free ones.

Yes, all the drm and licensing has really put me off the whole idea of buying fonts, apparently at one stage there was even a pay per glyph viewed font licensing system.

Hello,

Yes I have read tutorials and couldn't find anything.

Although this answer seems to confirm that there isn't anything unfortunately.

Re: How to limit svg text width in all browsers

Nevermind, I worked out an acceptable solution to this.

I was using <text> with <tspan>'s including spaces.
When I just used two <text>'s without <tspans> it works well enough with different fonts to be good enough.

How to limit svg text width in all browsers

I have a conundrum which might derail my entire svg project :( I have spent a few days redesigning my header completely in svg code. I have text overlaying a rectangle (the rectangle is a certain width). But how can I get the text to be the same width in all browsers and all fonts? I tried using the...

Ok thanks, that is a much more in depth tutorial.

I have already found a solution to another issue in chapter six.

Re: SVG Is there a relative position?

Thanks for the replies. I couldn't find anything else that was quicker so I used php using a variable for the main position then adding + number for the offset for individual elements. Slightly time consuming to write the first time but worth it for the ease of moving all the objects at once. Actual...
