thanks for the reply & particularly the suggestions :)
& by the way the circle does have a linear gradient(refer to the svg along with tutorial) but yes...the colors of gradient aren't that distinctive....

I tried to insert a PNG image file but it didn't work, the image didn't display.
I assume jpg files can be inserted but not png files...
Given that Inkscape exports only in png format, it would be nice if we could insert png files :)
