Basic tutorial on Illustrating 3D looking objects in Inkscap

thanks for the reply & particularly the suggestions
& by the way the circle does have a linear gradient(refer to the svg along with tutorial) but yes...the colors of gradient aren't that distinctive....

I tried to insert a PNG image file but it didn't work, the image didn't display.
I assume jpg files can be inserted but not png files...
Given that Inkscape exports only in png format, it would be nice if we could insert png files

Its only three months that I started with Inkscape. This is one of my first tutorials on how to illustrate pile of coins.
