Tag: Solved and Workaround provided

Postby Grobe » Thu Nov 14, 2013 9:47 am

Hi.

I have a thought on a thing. My experience so far by being a member of this forum is that on far most question regarding Inkscape, you provide answers that directly solve my problem, or at least a fine workaround that I've never thaught about.

I also see that many other forums have the posibility to tag a thread as "Solved" (I assume this has being discussed before). But for Inkscapeforum.com, I would suggest to also add a tag namely "Workaround provided" or similar. That is for posts like this one, where an direct answer is not possible because there is no such function, but an alternative manually solution is provided.

What do you think about that?

Not on this forum, but many other forums have.

Here is an example.

It is a neat feature, but Ubuntu uses vBulletin for their forum which is a commercial product. I'm sure their are plugins for phpBB to do something similiar, but plugins are a PITA to maintain with phpBB because they don't simply "plug in". You have to modify the core code of the product and when you do an upgrade you have to remodify all the code.

So, whilst it would not doubt have value for the end users, it's a burden for me to have to maintain.
