When I registered I noticed this field in the form: Spammer, with a yes/no selection. At first I thought the forum was classifying me as a spammer, and then I had no idea whether to say yes or no. Is this a technique to foil spambots or whatever?

Thanks for the feedback. I changed it to a proper question, "Are you a spammer?" and reworded the associate description.

The question serves two functions:

1. It makes automating registrations a little trickier for spammers
2. The makes people acknowledge what might happen if they make offtopic or frivolous posts

In regards to point 2, it's not my intention to punish legitimate users. But spammers will do their best to look legitimate. So the question hopefully will prevent people from behaving in a way that might make me mistake them for a spammer and delete their account.
