Prevent a group of object(s) from snapping

Postby Grobe » Sun Nov 10, 2013 3:58 am

Hi, me again.

I just found myselg sitting and getting annoyed because I want to move a whole group of objects, and very often the wrong objects in the bounch of objects that is on the move is to snap.

So I've thinking - what if one object, or a whole group (sugroup of a bigger group of objects) could have an attribute that tell that group to not be able to snap? That would be amazing :)

I feel you, Grobe. But, ever since I`ve started using Shift+5 (%) my hair can be described as voluminous and I have no problems with dandruff ,)

Hi Grobe,

What if you'd select "only snap node closests to pointer" in the preferences? That should give you more control with respect to what snaps. Just grab the selection there where you want snapping to occur. In the latest nightly builds, you can even use the tab key to cycle to the second closest or third closest node.

Hi. I always have "only snap node closests to pointer" checked when I work in Inkscape. However, when there is many objects to move in a single operation, I still struggles to get the correct object to snap.
