Hi.
Is it possible to somehow align a pattern (or just individual objects) in a way that if those objects was pinned on a wheel/circle, the center distance for one object to next object would be equal, only there is no actual wheel or circle.
See drawing, I assume this explanation is horrible to understand
[edit]
Workaround: see next attachment. But Actually, I want to find a way to make this alignment to run automatically and also so that if the object is flipped horisontally, it will look the same (equal distance between lower lines as upper lines).
Attachment comes in opposite order. First one is actually the newest one.

Re: Pattern alignment, wheel (front view)
Here is a solution that would work easily -download it and open with inkscape to see the changes.
Used the function plotter; you can copy and paste the function written in the svg.
Good luck!
Edit: Couldn't decide what you were after, as the first solution with the star tool seemed more reasonable,
but made that other one that follows more your method.

Re: Pattern alignment, wheel (front view)
Thanks Lazur for providing two nice alternative methods.
I see there will always be a need to spend soome work time to get it done, whatever method to choose.
Anyway, I think the most important thing here is to learn new ways to do things in Inkscape

I don't know what exactly you needed.
There may be possibly other ways as well of doing such.

Off topic:
By the way I have to reorganise the materials I post here as the svg I linked here has the same name that braided spiral had, and it simply overwrote that at dropbox. So much for working on more computers.Re: Pattern alignment, wheel (front view)
A faster way to acomplish what I explained in first post, mostly I wish it to be automatic, just like the align functions.Lazur URH wrote:I don't know what exactly you needed.
Probably, but I haven't found any, exept from my own suggestion and your suggestion in your last post.Lazur URH wrote:There may be possibly other ways as well of doing such.
