Great forum, thanks - add next post nav?

Postby Deepmonk » Wed Jun 25, 2008 11:36 pm

Hi,

I'm really enjoying the forum as you can see as I am madly posting every where. I'm pretty used to forums and the only things I miss is 'new post since you last came'[found it] and 'next post in thread' navigation. The latter I really miss when I get to the end of a topic and realise I just want to go to the next topic. (rather than go back to the sub cat. Not sure if you can do either in phpBB or even If I have missed something but anyhoo.

All the best I'll do my best to help out with the easy questions....

Regards Dave

I'm sure I can write a mod to do this, although at this point I'm not making any promises. Have you seen such navigation links in other forums? (I'm interested in seeing an example). Also, do the links link to the next thread in the forum, or the next unread thread in the forum? I would think the latter would be more useful.

Not a vital thing but I think I use it to scan through the topics in each forum I'll just check...

yes, here at Arles Forum on the top right under the fish; 'View previous topic | View next topic'

Sorry If i'm getting posts, threads and topics mixed up here. The example is also on phpBBS.

I'm not familiar with phpBBS. Do you have a URL? It sounds like it uses phpBB (as this site does) so I might be able to easily copy the feature.
