Hi Friends,
Most of you who participate here regularly probably know that I always say that I hesitate to call myself an artist. I enjoy the creative process, and adore the time I spend playing with Inkscape. But if this is called art: http://www.ringostarrart.com/starr_artwork.htm then for goodness sakes, I am suddenly an artist! And if that's the case, I just threw away some very valuable works that I made at the age of 10 or 12
It feels.....well, it still feels strange to think of myself as an artist Many people say that any type of creativity is art. And I guess Inkscape (or any computer graphics program) is a tool, just as much as a pencil or paintbrush. But I have to wonder where do we "draw the line"? If everyone is an artist, then what do we call people with true artistic talent?
Please note that no ill will is intended by these comments. I just thought it would make an interesting discussion -- if anyone is interested. What is art? What makes something good art, and what makes something not good art? Is it truly in the eye of the beholder (as they say), is everyone an artist, or are there certain characteristics that are shared by or which identify good artwork?
If this is called art, then hey, I'm an artist!

OMG I can't believe you compared me to @#%@*& Ringo Starr??!!
I am going to have to live with that?
the image you posted, reminds me of some I just saw in a tv news report.

Your mind is what you think it is.

Oh gosh! I didn't mean it to sound like a comparison to you or your skills. I apologize for that. I'll delete the message in the other topic. My comments were just on the string of coincidences.
