[solved] pattern along path always black

Postby itchi » Fri Jan 24, 2014 7:42 am

Hi guys, I'm on Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 on Linux Mint 16 and have a question about pen-tool with pattern along path effect.

I do this:
- draw a red symbol and copy it
- select pencil and select 'shape from clipboard'.
- then i draw a line, the shape is there but it's black.

weird part: when I go a step back with ctrl+z it first turnes red, then the second ctrl+z it disapeares again. I've checked if there might be 2 shaped lines on top but that's not the case.

When it's black I can turn it red like normal but then when drawing another one it is black again. In the pen settings I checked 'apply last used style' to be sure but no effect.

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

*update* Found it out, but kind of weird. When you copy shape to the clipboard it will always be black, when you want to color it before drawing the pattern on path you have to select the STROKE color and it will be that color when you draw it. BUT when you want to change color after it is drawn then you use the FILL color.

Weird, but it works for now.
