i just downloaded inkscape and the tools don't seem to be working for me. it won't make a rectangle, draw with the pencil tool, the callig tool, or any of them. am i not doing something right?

i deleted it and downloaded it again and it still does not work, someone please help

edit: i discovered that using my wacom tablet pen it doesn't work but when i use a mouse it does. how do i get it to work with the tablet?
