Does your tablet work with other programs? OP what operating system do you have?

This has worked for many people:

it's work...

"Benzene265 wrote:I also happen to have a Bamboo and Inkscape. The problem is that Inkscape only recognizes one type of input device at a time. You're either using a mouse or a stylus. Not both. To make it work, open up Input Devices. You'll be greeted with two dropdown menus, one of which will have "Wacom Tablet Puck" at the top, the other will have "Window". First, select everything in that list, one at a time, with whichever pointing device you can get to work, and change them all to "Screen". If you leave them at "Window", your cursor won't line up properly and it'll make the pencil tool impossible to use. Hit "Save". Then, select the first "Wacom Tablet Pressure Stylus" you see on the list and leave Input Devices open. Click the Inkscape window with the pen and don't touch any other mouse. It should work, then. Oh, and it will lag and stutter, but once it's done fussing, it'll work just fine. Normal mice and strangely enough, my laptop's touchpad work under "Wacom Tablet Puck"."
