Lately I've been wanting to search out topics I posted a few years ago. But the forum seach does not offer the option to define dates. Is it possible to enable such a feature, or does phBB just not allow it?

It's not feature of phpBB. It's theoretically possible through a mod, but I try to avoid mods unless absolutely necessary--they are a significant burden when upgrading.

Ah, well no worries then. I've been meaning to learn how to use Google to search sites, so maybe I should do it sooner than later

To search this site in Google, put in the search term "site:inkscapeforum.com" (without quotes) followed by whatever keywords you want to search for. Google does offer a date refinement, but I suspect it's the date in the page headers, which may not be the date of the thread.
