Announcing Inkscape 0.92.4

Postby Lazur » Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:07 am

That's right, we are moving in giant steps.
The download page is available here.

Let's see some of the highlights.

•speeeeeeed -no lagging on deselecting paths
•faster filter rendering
•bugfix, bugfix everywhere
•more align and distribute options
•printing the actual size is working with most common printers -Canon, EPSON, Konica Minolta

Important notes:
This new version is the first to drop Windows XP support to the past. Sorry guys if you missed out.
On the other hand, Mac users building with Homebrew can enjoy the latest build with an up-to-date poppler library 0.72.0.

See the rest in the
release notes.

Also, reporting bugs is migrated from launchpad to gitlab.
If you found an issue or have a feature request, don't hesitate to check the inbox:

Congrats to everyone involved!

So happy with the new Inkscape! I think it is finally going to replace my 0.91. It works great and I really like the centerline trace extension. It is very easy to install now.
0.92.4 works on Windows, I got it to work under Linux too! Very nice.
Thank you to all the developers!

Just to make sure, does anyone have a link to the proper Windows installation guide for fablabnbg inkscape-centerline-trace extension? I'd like to see if I can install it on my Windows 10 O/S.

Thanks,

JW, have you seen the instructions on the centerline trace download page? https://github.com/fablabnbg/inkscape-centerline-trace

It used to be difficult. But with Inkscape 0.92 it is as easy as copying
- the autotrace.exe and
- centerline-trace.inx and
- centerline-trace.py
to the user's extension folder.

I <3 Inkscape 0.92.4.

That's the case since 0.92.2, btw.
