Two questions [solved]

Postby srdjan » Fri Jul 20, 2007 9:48 pm

Hi

I have two questions:
-Is it possible to copy stroke attributes (color, width, etc...) from one object to another?
-Is it possible to save gradients

thanks

to copy style from one object to another do a standard copy (ctrl+C) on the from object then do Paste style (ctrl+shift+V) on the target.

We dont have the ability to save stock graidents yet, or to add them as swatches to the bottom bar, but you can always save a normal SVG with them in it, and you should be able to Copy and paste from that to wherever your working, as long as you open all the files from the same instance of inkscape.

Thank you, this is exactly what I need.
Anyway, the possibility to save gradient will be cool...

Well, above post raises another question :-)
How can I change the name of gradients?
For example, gradients are created with very generic names like "linearGradient3142" etc...
But I can't find the way how to rename them into more intuitive names.
Am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything. Aside from using the XML editor you can't rename your gradients. Hopefully a feature to rename gradients will be introduced.
