Hi
Is the Competition forum only for announcing official competitions? Or can members post suggestions for whatever kind of competition they might like to see?
I was thinking it might be fun to do a jack-o-lantern competition (made with Inkscape, not real pumpkins ). Inspired by nils' October viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1686

Re: Competition forum Q
The idea was that people could suggest a theme and I would create a topic for it, but competitions have been that popular so I'm kinda lazy about it You can create a topic for one yourself if you like.
Re: Competition forum Q
Yeah, now that you mention it....
Competitions are no fun if no one participates
I wonder why there hasn't been much interest? Because there are plenty of active, inspired members. Maybe everyone is just too busy?
For myself, I have to say I feel a bit intimidated by "competition". It's not that I'm not competitive, indeed my competitive nature has gotten me into trouble on more than a few occasions But as one who hesitates to call herself an artist, competing as an artist is a bit too challenging
What do you think about the idea of Workshops? I wonder if there are more members like me -- hesitant to compete? If so, maybe calling them 'workshops' would increase participation?? It wouldn't have to be "taught" by anyone, participants could comment on each others work. Maybe that could be a criteria for pariticipation -- willingness to offer and accept constructive criticism?
I don't know, just some thoughts I guess

I know for myself it's not having the time. At the same time, whilst we have 1000 registered accounts, only 100 of those were active in the last month and of those 50 haven't made more than 2 posts. So really there are very few regular users of this forum (in comparison to the number of registered members).

I think that's a clever idea. No rules. No winner. Perhaps no time limit. Just an inpiring theme where people can show off, inspire each other and offer help.
