Hi, I am new to inkscape, and I am trying to decide which program to go with. What I am specifically looking for is a toutorial/wizard of sorts showcasing this program.
I specifically need a program that will allow me to scan my drawings, then define them with the pc and then add color.
If this is the program that will do that, how can I view it. Youtube?
Thanks.
Tammie

Re: make a decision
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
There are plenty of video tutorials on the internet (most probably YouTube, but many others too). But I don't know of any which are more or less of an overview of the whole thing, but there may well be one or some. Definitelly there are many artists who scan their drawings, then trace them and add color with Inkscape tools.
But I'm not sure what you mean by "define them with the pc"?
Maybe someone else knows of some sort of overview video?

Re: make a decision
Maybe TamiKZ440 is referring to tracing or similar manipulation.
Not sure about the video, but I`m already using Inkscape for a while, and quite often I`m importing my sketches and drawings. Inkscape has a very nice tool for tracing (main menu: Path/Trace bitmap). If this is what TamiKZ440 is looking for, links from brynn`s signature would be quite enough to illustrate what could be done with this tool and Inkscape after all.
Once you have your drawing vectorized, coloring is the easier part. Fill tool also has some handy features, among other available tools in Inkscape.
p.s.
I`m not that fluent with Illustrator as I was since everything I did in Illy, now a days I do with this incredible piece of software. I made this remark cause I don`t have scanner attached (I use camera for importing drawings) and I haven`t used direct import from scanner, yet ,)
