I use inkscape a lot for creating posters and print design. What I miss the most is having margin created, not hard margin but just guide. I have to manually create these guide every project. Is there a way to have margin guide created automatically, or is there a plugin for that?

Talking about plugin, what is a good source on how to make a plugin for inkscape?

this extension does the trick really nicely, but doesn't create margin by size. That's a good start though

Hi. I've written a bundle of inkscape extensions related to guides. You can find them here: https://github.com/sambody/inkscape-guide-tools

One of them is for adding margin guides. Either all margin guides with the same distance to the border, or separate distances. Maybe that's what you're looking for?

One may hide guides, of course, but instead I`m relaying on your extension - very often.
