Inkcut issue

Postby winfo » Sat Nov 07, 2015 1:11 pm

Hi all, sure hope someone can assist with an issue I'm running into. I have been running Inkscape on Xubuntu for a while now with no issues. Recently decided to try InkCut since my subscription ran out for SignCut and didn't feel like renewing quite yet. I installed Inkcut 1.0 and worked without issue for a few days and cut a few items. Last night my wife wanted some text cut and had some trouble/hoops to jump through to get it to cut the text (converting to paths, un-grouping, union, then cut). Anyhow on the 3rd cut I began getting an error and even previous successful items that I've cut generate the same error. I receive this as soon as I select Extensions >> Cutter / Plotter >> InkCut v1.0 Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not really without the image and the extension - can't use it myself. But you should look if there is something that has zero height in your drawing - what I can think of would be a horizontal line that is just a path with a stroke. If there is one, convert stroke to path.

Else point us to the extension (link) and upload the file. Also tell us which Inkscape version you use.

I second Moini:

Try to upload your trouble file or similar.

- Other idea look at the xml editor (Ctrl + Shift + X) for any suspicious path
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:

3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.

Also, what is the hardware that you use Inkcut with?
