Hi all,
I am working with an open source image processing project (ITK: www.itk.org) on improving the documentation in an effort to reduce the learning curve. To do this, we are trying to draw documentation images.
I tried to make a few of these images:
http://www.itk.org/Doxygen/html/structi ... lator.html
http://www.itk.org/Doxygen/html/classit ... ilter.html
and I believe they are quite helpful, even though I'm certainly no graphic artist. However, with some help from someone who IS an artist and would like to contribute to a good cause, I believe we can make these look much more professional, as well as create many more of a similar nature.
I thought this type of task might appeal to some users of Inkscape (as we would want these drawings in a vector format). Particularly, this could be a cool "resume item" for a young digital art student
Please let me know if you are interested or would like more information!

If you give us more informations about the project, you'll probably find someone who can help.
I can see only squares/rectangles, are these the elements to be reworked?

Re: Open source project in need of some graphics
The images, at least for the first several, will indeed be quite straight forward. We have come up with a preliminary list of things we would like to see:
http://www.itk.org/Wiki/ITK/DocumentationGraphics
Particularly, the "Easy Diagrams" would be a great place to start
I think the best process would be to simply chat with the artist for a few minutes about each diagram. We have only written very brief descriptions in that list, but a quick "back and forth" explanation/question session would go much farther.
