Wish I understood Hungarian, and could understand the name of the city and the streets! (what is szint? Apartments? And what's the meaning of the crow in the compass rose?)

The plan was themed around birds.
Szalakóta lakópark - roller subdivision. That bird looks similar to the one on the previous about screen. Silhouette is present on the compass.

The two main roads are named after ornithologists, Miklós Béldi and Ottó Herman.
They are catching the birds in between.
kék vércse - red-footed falcon
kárókatona - cormorant
szalakóta - roller
lappantyú - european nightjar
túzok - great bustard
gyurgyalag - european bee-eater
sasfészek - eagle nest
harkály - woodpecker
has a similar sounding to Harkány, which is an existing town.
Battyán is also an actual name used more times in combination, like in Szabadbattyán or just Battyán (Boťany). (Interestingly the latter has a bird in their coat of arms.)


The "szint" is the number of levels planned in the buildings.
Probably should have placed less housing and more shops, bakery, bus stops etc., however the detail level is quite good for that scale as is.
Since 3D rendering wasn't a must I could avoid using cad for it.

Aaaah! I was on a completely different page with 'roller'. Didn't know that was a bird's species family ('Racken' in German).

I like it when there's some thought like this 'catching birds in between them' going on behind the planning (or just the naming).

Aside from the cormorants, who dry their wings just 2km away from me perched on some poles in the Kiel Canal, I've never seen any of those birds in the wild. The combination seems to be typical for Hungary, right?

I think it doesn't require any shops, it's not sooo large (well, a bakery, maybe). But the amount of free spaces and trees is huge, and I like that (what I miss are bike lanes on the streets! - but maybe there wouldn't be a lot of traffic on the streets around).
