I hope that you turn this feature off so that you develop a community instead of having just anyone posting content, this is what can be the start of things that are unwelcomed in a forum community

You mean guest posts?

In future it may be turned off. But at the moment, whilst membership is so thin, guest posts will remain open to help build content in the forums. Nobody wants to become a member of a forum that isn't active. And guest posts will help create activity until we get a larger numbers of members.

I like the idea of allowing guest posts, at least in topics like Feedback & Suggestions. I can see how they could get out of hand, but it's handy to be able to make a quick suggestion or comment without having to go through the registration process. I'm just getting started using Inkscape and am always looking sites with tutorials and information I can use. There are other sites with good content, but an active forum would be helpful. I'll be sure to bookmark this site and check back and see how things progress.
