How to videos

Postby GhostNr1 » Tue Jul 21, 2015 7:52 pm

Hi!

I am doing videos on Chris Hildenbrand earlier blog post. I do the videos as a reference to his blog. So all credit to Chris for his amazingly good blog.
This is just to see one way to do the tutorial. I hope you like them.
To the channel with all the videos

Thanks for a great forum

Chris Hildenbrand's blog where all his original tutorials can be found http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.com/

I'm not sure what you mean by "I do the videos as a reference to his blog."

Since he sells his source SVG files on his blog, I'm not sure how much he appreciates you offering them for free on your blog.

Personally, it looks to me like you're trying to build your reputation on top of his. Just my opinion.

You have a valid concern there brynn.

I was talking to Chris if he was ok with me doing this, and he is. So he is well aware that I do it.
After someone did try to rip off all the tutorials and then tried to sell it as a course I didn't want to make it if he wasn't ok with it.

After all it is a tutorial, so if you take less then 1 hour you get the same result. What you get in his SVG file is extra art, and you don't need to spend 1 hour to make your own art. I don't have that.

And for reputation, I can't deny I'm happy when people like it. But I doubt that this will get anywhere.

I hope this answer some, but your opinion is yours and I respect it.
But I'm glad you pointed out your concern about it thought.

Oh, I appreciate your reply, and that you communicated with him and he knows about it. The way you wrote the post looks like....well, looks like just what I said.

I would not have had any worries if you had said that from the start, and provided a link to his blog/tutorials in your post.

Good luck with your blog :D

brynn, your absolutely right, I just missed the link so I'm glad you posted one.

In all the videos and post I do I put a link to his blog, and I try to be as clear as possible that it is his work. But communication isn't the easiest thing ;)
After I read what I wrote I see what you mean. So I'm glad we get that right.

Thanks for your answer
