Bubblegum Dream Factory

Postby DragonStar » Tue May 06, 2008 3:39 am

Call it a retro phantasia, a grown up's longing for childhood, the juxtaposition of the hard machine with the soft bubbles. Image

Really nice design.

Just some criticism, on a canvas I would position the drawing so the face is more central--which would mean more white space on the left and bottom. I would do this as I think the face could be easily missed if it's not raised to a more focused area. I'm not sure if you can place the graphic anywhere on the shirt, but if you can I would have the pattern over the left (the wearer's left) shoulder, again so the face is more central and attention grabbing.

I can indeed place the image anywhere. I will try some different placements as you suggest, and thanks. If I read you correctly, placing the "pattern" over the wearer's left shoulder would mean a 90 degree rotation? Or just moved up?

Nah, I would just move it up and to the right. It only a suggestion though--it may or may not look any good.

This one's up for scoring. Just click and score, baby! Still loving Inkscape. Viva open source!

Threadless didn't, but that isn't unusual. Gotta keep plugging away...

That's a really cool image! I have only been using inkscape for about a week, but I really like it. I know that creating tutorials is time consuming, but I hope more talented artists/imagists can post some how to tips about creating things like the face in the OP. I still have quite a hard time breaking down images like the face into the smaller components that composed them, though I am getting the hang of understand shading. Geometric shapes aren't so tough.

Any, great image, thanks for sharing!!
