I'm using a Roland cj-70

I am having difficulty getting the it to cut it simply hovers over the vinyl but dosn't actually drop the blade down. Do I have to save the files on inscape and then open them with a Roland cutting software like cut studio? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, this forum is more for help with Inkscape than for help with the cutting machine. But we'll still do our best.

Also, I don't really know much about those machines, besides basically what they do and what they're used for. I assume that you would have to save the file before you send it over to the machine. If you've saved the image, and exported it properly (or whatever happens to get the image file to the machine -- like I don't know if you normally put the image on a disc and slide the disc into the machine? or whatever), I'm thinking it's more of an issue with the machine, in which case I would suggest consulting the machine's owner manual, or calling the Roland company for help.
