Inkscape has been working fine for me until I lost the thumb drive I kept some of my work on. A message pops up saying "there is no disk in drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR2". I put in another thumb drive into the same USB outlet but the message still comes up everytime I open Inkscape. Why is this popping up?
Also I can no longer use the 'save as' option. I click on the icon and even use the key stroke combo but simply nothing happens. Any idea?
Won't let me 'save as'
Re: Won't let me 'save as'
This is clearly a bug, but you should be able to resolve the problem by removing references to the nonexistent drive in your Inkscape preferences file. This file is %appdata%\Inkscape\preferences.xml (as you're using Windows). You can delete this file entirely if you don't mind losing any other Inkscape preference settings that you may have made. If you want to edit the file, it's probably just a matter of removing the 'group' element with id="save_as".
Re: Won't let me 'save as'
See also here or here for a solution (the file entries in question - referring to the no longer present thumb drive - likely are stored outside of Inkscape (i.e. not in the prefs file)).Starlight Juliet wrote:Inkscape has been working fine for me until I lost the thumb drive I kept some of my work on. Known regression in Inkscape 0.48.2 on Windows: see this comment for some info.Starlight Juliet wrote:Also I can no longer use the 'save as' option. I click on the icon and even use the key stroke combo but simply nothing happens. Any idea?
