I found one solution in Youtube but it does not seem to work with me.

It used to be easy shaping text in Photoshop but I lost my latest
version and I only have Photoshop 5 and Illustrator 8 and I'm
trying ti find other ways (or software) to shape a text. I actually
just need to do one single line of text to shape for a book project.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi NEOINKMAN2,
All you need to do is draw a path using a tool like Bezier Curve in the shape that you want the text to follow. Then put the text over that path (resize accordingly) and select both text and path. Click Text > Put on Path

Hello, i have a similar question.
What i have:
- A circle
- A Text, which was, after writing, scaled smaller horizontally (so it is distorted)
What i need:
I want te text to follow the circle, which is no problem thanks to the "text to path" feature. However, whenever i put the text onto the circle, it losses the scaling factor and the individual letters get their original width back.
Is there a possibility to scale individual characters horizontally while they are above the path?
What i have:

I believe this could be considered a bug. There is this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/167039 that could be the same issue.
One kind of way around this is to convert the text to a path then use the pattern on path path effect or pattern along path extension with a arc, rather than a full circle (though the text is no longer editable as text, and horizontals are warped into curves).

I don't think the problem is related, so it should be considered a missing feature (its not a bug per se, but would be a very useful feature).
Your suggested Workaround unfortunately did not work for me.

I think this issue is sufficiently covered on Launchpad - quoting from an earlier answer to the same question:
1) There's already a bug report about this missing feature - marked as 'Won't Fix':

2) I just verified that you can use both
- 'Effects/Extensions > Generate from Path… > Pattern Along Path'
- 'Path > Path Effect Editor… > Pattern Along Path'
to put text converted to path on a circle, keeping its previously applied vertical stretching transformation.
