Inkscape Lite on Mandriva Linux

Postby brtkr » Mon Aug 31, 2009 3:21 am

Today I compiled the lite version of Inkscape to Mandriva Linux. This Inkscape (Inkscape Lite or simply InkLite) comes from the very small distribution Puppy Linux. The current "official" version is: inkscapelite-0.36.3-mdv2009.1-i686

1. Download here: http://brtkr.extra.hu/downloads.php?cat_id=5&download_id=134.
2. Unpackage the tar.gz file to your Desktop.
3. Open a two-panel filemanager in root privilege, ie. mc in terminal.
4. Copy the files and folders to their places on the system root (in the hierarchy as is in the tar.gz).
You can start the program by typing inkscapelite in terminal/console or you can access on KDE from the Application menu, too.

Inkscape Lite is a very lite version. It has no effects. It weights not more than 5 MB. The big brother needs at least 40 MB in memory.
