Postby microUgly » Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:39 am

Posting this to test the deviantArt BBCode

Pencils: leeanderson SketchCommish01 - lastscionz commisioned by leeanderson (coloured with permission of both parties - thankyou)

This was my first inking effort using a tablet and the Calligraphy tool.

Looks awesome. So you used the callig to do the inking w line weights?
How'd you find it? I find the tablet makes a big difference in terms of that sort of stuff.

That's right. It's pretty good. I've tried it with another work where I put in a little more effort. It takes some tweaking of the variables to get my desired behaviour. And I do a lot of undoing (swipe, undo, swipe, undo, swipe), but it's still much faster and intuitive than manually laying nodes. Although I don't think this is how comics and such are inked. I think they carefully draw on each side of the inked line and then colour it in - which I might try with my next work, since the paint bucket works so well.
