Hello.
I generally use Inkscape a lot, so it is installed on most of my computers. I just recently got a Dell XPS 13 which has a resolution of 3200 x 1800. While the text on the application is readable, it shows up not as crisp as the text of the laptop. I was wondering if there was a setting that I haven't seen to fix this. Is there any way to fix this or would it require additional development?

Welcome to the forum!
I hate to use this info to answer this question, because I've only heard 1 report....and none to the contrary. But I did hear from someone who had bought a Dell XPS, high def, high res, and all that. But the Inkscape display was so awful, they returned it. And that was from someone who is involved in Inkscape development. I'm not sure if he technically is a developer, but is someone who I would not doubt about their report.
However, having said that, a new version of Inkscape is coming in probably the next few months. Maybe it has something that can help? You could get 0.92pre2(beta) already. But I wouldn't know what to suggest specifically.
Unfortunately, Inkscape developers don't participate on forums very much (I don't know why). You can reach them most easily via IRC, on either the users' channel or devs' channel: https://inkscape.org/en/community/discussion/. It's kind of hit and miss on IRC, so if you want your question to reach All developers, use the developer mailing list https://inkscape.org/en/community/mailing-lists/
I'll be interested to hear what you learn. If you have a chance, could you come back and post what you learn? (If you use the mailing list, I'll see it. But I'm not on IRC very much.)

Support for hidpi screens will be better in 0.93 (and not improve a lot in 0.92, as far as I understand). There is no setting within Inkscape (other than that for the icon sizes) that can be modified to adapt to hidpi screens.

I got the same response that Moini gave from the dev IRC channel. 0.93 utilizes GTK3 which should handle high dpi displays better.
We'll have to wait until this version to see if it addresses the issues.
Based on my findings, it seems that even Windows applications (such as Event Viewer) suffers from the same fate as Inkscape. These applications just don't have the capabilities to scale upwards, so they use a pixelated set of text. It's readable and I can technically still work with it, but it is different from all my other installations. Take the cursor icon for instance. Some of the icons show up super small.

Oh, good to hear a "fix" is already in the works!
Thanks :)
