Title: 1930s Shell sign
Post by: styxlawyer on January 16, 2016, 04:16:38 PM
I volunteer at our local Heritage Museum and this winter we have been restoring a 1930s Shell petrol pump. I Googled for some images and spotted the attached which I have reproduced. It will be laminated and mounted in the restored frame.

Nice work!

It reminds me of an old photo I have of my grandfather's gas station, near their house.  I have no idea what brand of gas he sold, and the photo is B&W anyway.  Easily could have been Shell though.  But those old photos sure bring back memories of childhood!  There's a recent drawing in the Inkscape website gallery, showing an old Texaco sign:  https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/6681/

(PS - You know anyone is welcome to set up their own personal gallery in our gallery (http://inkscapecommunity.com/ic_gallery/index.php), right?  Only if you like (http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?topic=78.0)  :))
