Title: 3D Box side stack
Post by: Ravager on June 01, 2019, 02:05:12 AM
I'm trying to get used to making 3D Boxes. In the lower box, the left side looks empty. I want it look like upper box. So, I have to stack up the left side by selecting and pushing page up button on the keyboard. Is there a way to make it default for the upper 3D box?

Well, I'm not an expert in boxes, I couldn't duplicate your box (nor surprising though).  Just in case you haven't already tried this, there's good info in the help manual.  You can go to help above and click on manual (it's online), click on index and it's listed first, 3D boxes.  Basically using the Shift or Ctrl key controls much of it.  Oddly, I wasn't able to type in the angles info, not sure why.

Another quick thought - ensure you haven't made that one side transparent by mistake.  (check your opacity).

Yeah, I can only echo the advice to look in the manual.  I find that tool very confusing and hard to use.  Here's the link to the 3d box tool:  http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Shapes-Boxes.html

If you'd like to share more about your project, we might be able to give you specific suggestions.  Maybe the 3d Box tool isn't the best approach?

Thanks for the replies. This is not a project. It's just studying to get used to inkscape and to know what I can do with it. I'll try it in the future again. If it won't work again I'll just drop it. Thanks guys.
