Title: Decrease
Post by: cpes on February 01, 2019, 09:56:38 AM
I would like to reduce or hide motives in one direction. Shrinking along a path would also be a possibility. Unfortunately I could not find a solution yet. Is there maybe a plugin? Example picture in the appendix.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, I think there are a couple of approaches for this.  The most powerful one is Edit menu > Clones > Tiled Clones.

The manual has some info on that:  http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Tiles.html  Note that there are several sub-chapters there, one for each tab of that large dialog.

Another approach might be interpolation (Extensions menu > Generate from Path > Interpolate).  The manual also has some info on that:  http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Extensions-GenerateFromPath.html#Extensions-Interpolate  Plus there's a specific tutorial for that in Help menu > Tutorials > Interpolate

Oh, and I think there's an LPE which can do interpolation.  Path menu > Path Effects > Interpolate Sub-Paths.  I don't remember where to find instructions for that one, but it's probably not the best for your project anyway.  But if you need info, let us know.  If someone else doesn't know where to find instructions, I'll search around.
