Title: Difference "embed" vs. "Link" for dragged picture?
Post by: pstein on November 25, 2015, 01:35:58 AM
Sorry for this newbie question. I am new to InkScape.

I installed InkScape and dragged a *.png picture from WinExplorer onto InkScape window.

Then a prompt dialog appears asking me if I want either to

embed

or

link

the picture.

Whats the difference?

I want to edit the just dragged, loaded picture as in all other graphic programs too.
If I later save my edited picture it should automatically overwrite the original file from where I dragged it.

So what do I have to select?

Thank you
Peter
