Title: Missing icons
Post by: paulrogers on September 28, 2017, 09:59:16 AM
Newbie here, and first of all I must ask if this is a better forum for this install question, or the Sourceforge mailing list?

OK, next, here's my problem: I just compiled Inkscape for my LFS-7.10 "homebrew" system from source.  The prereqs installed are:
hicolor-icon-theme-0.15
gnome-icon-theme-3.12.0
tango-icon-theme-0.8.90
gtk+-2.24.30
gtk+-3.20.9
libsigc++-2.8.0
glibmm-2.48.1
cairomm-1.12.0
pangomm-2.40.1
atkmm-2.24.2
gtkmm-2.24.4
libatomic_ops-7.4.4
gc-7.6.0
gsl-2.1
inkscape-0.92.2

When I fired it up all the icons along the sides are missing, red X's, and almost all the icons along the top likewise.  That makes it virtually unusable, relying on just the tooltips!  What have I got wrong and how do I fix it?

How did you compile? Using autotools? Or cmake? As for dependencies,  your list looks rather incomplete to me (e.g. potrace is missing)
Here's a full list:

Do you have any filters or extensions, or are those missing, too?

(but yes, probably the mailing list or even IRC will probably give you a quicker answer)
