So I'm follow the nkscape For Beginners: Impossible Hexagon Tutorial and I'm at 3:10 and I'm suppose to duplicate and rotate images to create a circle with a gradient but when I move pieces the gradient doesn't work properly.

The other two images should be identical to the one in the middle.
Have I done something wrong to get this problem?

Not sure about the tutorial in question -haven't seen it- but I assume you didn't click the transform gradients with the objects button.
If you want a Gradient to transform with an object, you must toggle on this option using the icon (http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/images/ICONS_PNG/status/transform-affect-gradient.png) that is in the Tool Controls when the Select Tool is in use.

Geez! It's hard to imagine a beginners tutorial with "Impossible" in the title! If you could share a link to the tutorial, we could do more than just guess.
