Title: Text boxes
Post by: louiseS on August 31, 2016, 03:45:06 AM
Hi there!

I'm trying to put together a poster that's quite text-heavy on Inkscape. One thing is driving me completely mad - I've figured out how to make text boxes, but there are some places where I want to, for instance, get the text to follow the contour of an image, or sit inside a triangle shape or something. Ie, I don't always want my text boxes to be box-shaped.

Is there any way at all of making this happen in Inkscape?

Thanks :-)

On second thoughts, I've just discovered the 'flow into frame' button. For anyone else who's ever trying to do this same thing - select the text and the shape you want to fit it into, then click Text > Flow into frame. Voila.

'Text along Path' is another feature that might be of interest to you.
