I'm using an imported PNG file object (attached) as part of my graphic design. However, when I print the design the PNG object prints as a black block. I suspect the issue is due to the alpha channel but no matter what I try the PNG will not print correctly. I tried selecting the object and changing the opacity, fill and stroke etc but nothing seems to get it to print correctly. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!
This tutorial can help you find all the places which might be creating some transparency: https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?action=articles;sa=view;article=18.
Or if you want to share the SVG file with us, we can look for it.
It seems like I recently read that this is a bug, although I can't find the report at the moment. But hopefully we can find the transparency :)

Possible cause:
If:
- you're using Inkscape 0.91
- are on Windows
- have installed the 64bit version
Then:
- Please upgrade to Inkscape 0.92.1.
- Or install Inkscape 0.91, 32bit version.
See also: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.91#Known_issues (last item)
If that's not the issue, please tell us more :)
(attach the svg, give info about operating system and Inkscape version and printer used)

Many thanks to Moini and brynn for your replies / suggestions.
The problem appears to be fixed by upgrading to 0.92.1 as Moini suggested.
I was using Inkscape 0.91 r13725 with Windows 10 Home , Build 1607 64 Bit.
