Although the prospect of a steep learning-curve daunts me … I have no experience in using such user-influenced software & have only a basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (CS5), I would like to explore the possibilities that Inkscape may offer. BUT … there does not appear to be a way to get the app to work on OS 10.13.6 (High Sierra), AND … I've been unable to find any information about future prospects of this becoming possible. Can anyone provide information in this regard? I will likely donate towards Inkscape's ongoing development, but would like to think that my contribution may lead to a version I can use.

1. Which version did you download?
2. Have you read the installation instructions on the download page?
3. Have you had a look into the FAQ at https://inkscape.org/learn/faq/#mac-os-x-specific-issues ?
4. What did you try?

Welcome to the forum!
The only info I know about Macs starts here: https://inkscape.org/release/0.92.3/mac-os-x/dl/ Then click on "Download Inkscape 0.92.2 (previous version)" where there will be 3 choices to follow. I don't know enough about Macs to answer your question directly.

Depending on what you want to use Inkscape for, the learning curve might not be too bad. The first hour after I downloaded it, with little to no previous experience with computer graphics, I was doodling like crazy, and learning about the interface. And at that time (11 to 12 years ago), there was no support forum. The first support forum showed up a few months after I first installed Inkscape.
But now, we're here to help, if you need it :)
