Title: How do I turn off autosave feature.

Whenever I do something like change the shape of scares in inkscape it stays that way.

Hhmm, we might need a little more info, to be able to help....I'm not sure.

If I take "scares" as a typo for "squares", this tutorial might help:  Customize Your Inkscape Tools' Styles (http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?action=articles;sa=view;article=15)  If that tutorial helps, then the problem is not with auto-save.  It's the default behavior of Inkscape (which I'm slowly but surely getting up the nerve to ask developers if it can be changed) (because it causes a lot of grief for new users).

If that tutorial doesn't help, can you please give us some more information about the problem, such as which tool you're using, which steps you're taking, and maybe show an illustration or screenshot?
