Hi Friends,
Since mikey has done our technical and software updates, etc, and since July is our anniversary month, I'll be perusing the site (over the next few weeks) and especially the  Home page (Tutorials) to make sure content is current.

Undoubtedly there will be some new tutorials added.  I'm considering deleting those tutorials written for version 0.46....  Maybe it will depend on how many new ones I add.  We'll see.  If anyone has any comments or opinions about that, please feel free to share them.

I'm also looking for any new mods that might have been made for SMF (the forum software), over the last couple of years, to possibly add new features to the forum.  One of those is called "Best Answer".  It allows the member who started the topic or asked a question, to mark which answer is the best one for their problem.  (admins and mods can also do it, if the op doesn't)

We already have a means of marking a topic solved, which I have mixed feelings about, but still wanted to provide it.  But "Best Answer" is different.  I think it could be more helpful than just "solved".  Although perhaps the difference is moot, in the end.

But anyway, comments are welcome (or if you happen to see something that needs updating).   :)

Ok, for the time being, updates are finished.  All the tutorial series have been updated.  And the Animation block has a lot of new tutorials and info, and has been reorganized.

If you see any errors, or know additional info that  could be included, please feel free to reply.

In the plans are:

1 -- extending the Inkscape and Digital Cutting Machines section.  Once we have the Inkscape Cutting Design website transferred to our server, I'll focus on making improvements and updating that website.  Part of that will include trying to bring in more traffic for the more industrial type of digital cutting, such as CNC, vinyl, and laser cutting (uses of Inkscape which are growing, even though the home/craft cutter type of use is declining).  So I hope to find some tutorials for those types of projects.

2 -- adding a few more mods, which will provide more new features.  As I'm converting ICD from phpBB to SMF, likely I'll come across some more mods we can use.  Some of these might be:  a mod that will allow me to rearrange the tabs of the main navigation menu, and maybe even change the text on some; a language dropdown list, to make better use of all the different languages we offer; and possibly a mod that will allow us to use custom icons for various parts of the forum....although I might hold off on that one, until we have more members who are interested in making us some custom icons (I'm not very good with that kind of art).

3 -- possibly adding a list of Inkscape extensions, with download links.  This is actually a long term project I'm working on for the Inkscape website, so once I'm finished, it will be a page on the website, where I can just link to it.  But until then, I might put a list on the Home page.

Comments, questions welcome  :D
