Title: Fading an image
Post by: khedley on September 11, 2017, 10:06:51 AM
I want to fade out only one side of an image I imported to Inkscape. I know if you change the opacity that fades it out but it fades out the whole picture and I just wanted one side faded out (a gradient look to it).

Is this possible with Inkscape?

TIA!  :D

Yes, take a look at masking:

Don't overlook using a gradient either.

If he imported the image, then it's a raster image, which as we know, Inkscape can't edit.  But for a vector image, yes, gradients is good option.
