Title: re-testing mod to prevent losing msg
Post by: brynn on November 14, 2017, 06:11:48 PM
I'm testing a new version of the mod I recently tried, but found to be awful -- that saves a message if you browse away from the editor mistakenly, so the message isn't lost.

Previous version made the message too permanent.  Standby for test  :)

Ok, installation complete.  Let's paste in some text

I am doing the "hiking logo" tutorial at http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/AShortExampleLogo.html . After you enter and format the text you are directed to import a file that is an outline of a mountain. So I went on Paint and made the outline of the top of the mountain, and imported it as directed ( tried both a png and and bmp file ) and placed  it at the top of the work area above the letters.  The next step is to change the letters to paths and extend the top of the letters above the outline of the mountain.

random text in full editor

This folder contains the templates for new documents created in Inkscape. You will
normally see them listed in the File > New submenu. A template may store any
document-specific settings (such as initial zoom and view, paper size, background and
borders, metadata, window geometry, grid and guide settings, export hints) as well as
any objects. To add a new template, simply save or copy it in this folder; nothing else
is required.

Using Quick Reply

Hhm, sometimes text remains too long, but sometimes it works as expected.  Don't see any clues so far.  IIll keep it installed at least until I can figure what conditions causes causes wich problem.
