Hi,
I'm converting SVG files to EMF with command line. This really works great.
But if running this in a background task (with no logged in user/no gui) EMF is created, but text is gone (v 0.91)

(v0.92.1 generated corrupt EMF files, even in logged in mode)

any idea?
Markus

Hi Marcus,

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same issue (and v0.92.2 seems to still be broken for the EMF export).

One discovery I did make is if I remove the sub-folders for Inkscape then any SVG to EMF conversion results in the text being lost. So I wonder if there's an issue with the sub-folder references or permissions when Inkscape runs in a background task.

All the best,

Andy

Welcome to both of you!

I'm not sure why the original message wasn't answered in a more timely manner.  I don't use the command line - don't even know how.  It may be that we just don't have any members participating who use it.   About the best I could do (here) is refer you to a reference for command line....umm, I guess they're commands, haha.  https://inkscape.org/en/doc/inkscape-man.html

Beyond that, I would refer you to the IRC.  There are 2 channels, one mostly for users and one mostly for developers.  But there's a good deal of crossover, so I'd say either one would be appropriate.  If you have a strong suspicion it's a bug, I'd say go for the development channel.  Those addresses can be found here:  https://inkscape.org/en/community/discussion/

And then there are the mailing lists, which is where developers and many advanced Inkscape users prefer to communicate.  I wish they'd make it so that people can post to the lists with subscribing.  But unfortunately, that's not the case.  Info here:  https://inkscape.org/en/community/mailing-lists/  You'll want to use either the User Community list or the Devel list.

Sorry I can't help more than that.
