Is it possible to export png file without alpha channel information?
I have found some information on this subject so in the document settings I changed the background colour to white but exported png file still contains additional information about alpha channel despite the fact that it is not visible as transparency.
I ask because I will use png files in blender as grayscale textures and alpha channel takes up 2 times more gpu memory than a flat greyscale png file.
Thx

Currently, you will need to put a white rectangle in the background.

Yes, the background color option that you found in Document Properties is only for your personal preference for a canvas background. It doesn't always get exported (in the case of exporting a PNG) or show up on the internet (in the case of an SVG image).
