I have a new Huion 1060Plus graphics tablet that I installed on my PC, running Windows 10. I have the newest version of Inkscape, which I have been using for a while. I can't get the tablet to work in Inkscape. I can see it as the input, it's set to work on screen, but when I save (also tried save and restart), the pen and tablet do nothing. I tried finding a tutorial but there was nothing recent and what I tried was exactly what I have already done. Have I missed a step?

Welcome to the forum!
I don't use a tablet, so I don't know exactly what to tell you. All I could do is point you to all the options that I know about, for using a tablet with Inkscape.
It sounds like you might have already found Edit menu > Input Devices. Don't miss the option for pressure sensitivity, if you want it. There's also Inkscape Preferences > Input/Output > Input Devices, where you might need to check one or both of the last options on that page.
The only other thing I know about it, is that you should not let the regular mouse rest on the tablet while you're using it.
I did find one bug report for that kind of tablet, but it has not been reproduced or confirmed as an Inkscape bug. But fwiw: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1622256
Does any of that help?

Unfortunately, no, but thank you for your help. I already had the input info, changed the preferences but it still doesn't do anything. thank you.

Hhm, that's curious. The only other thing I could suggest is to follow through with the tablet documentation for setting it up, and make sure you didn't miss a step. I assume it must have had some software that you had to install. So make sure that's correct.
Most of the time, when tablet users have a hard time getting it to work, eventually they figure it out. So I think there probably is a way to make it work. We just have to find the right options.
Don't give up!
Edit
You've restarted everything after installing, right? If not, shut everything down, and restart. Then try again :)

I think a bug reports should be follow up about this tablet model , there`s an old one closed because no activities https://answers.launchpad.net/inkscape/+question/386413

Hey buddy!
I'm not sure if we have enough info, from this case, to know if it's a bug or not. Maybe op will return and give an update?

I highly recommend XP-Pen tablets as well. I have the XP-Pen Artist15.6 , which was, at the time, the medium sized tablet in the Intuos line (I say 'at the time' because mine is over a year old now, and I'm not quite up to speed on their recent offerings). It has good pressure sensitivity, is easy to set up and use, comes with replacement pen nibs, and works well with various graphics programs (including Corel Painter, which is what I use). All I can say is that it's miles ahead of drawing with a mouse.
