Title: circular overlapping objects
Post by: Lazur on December 29, 2016, 04:50:29 PM
Once again I'm revisiting the conic gradient (http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8968&start=50#p63001) drawn from separate linear gradients idea.
Knowing gradient meshes are already built in, this one is a practice on overlapping of the objects to avoid anti-aliasing&alpha compositing artifacts.

Had created a few from scratch since with a different method, but still.

Here are two of them:

(https://openclipart.org/image/2400px/svg_to_png/229776/cgrd3.png) (https://openclipart.org/detail/229776/conic-gradient-2)

(https://openclipart.org/image/2400px/svg_to_png/229848/cgrd9.png) (https://openclipart.org/detail/229848/gradient-corrected)

The first one is created from thin 1° segments, while the latter is from squares.
Theoretically both do the same, but somehow the subpixel alpha issue seems to be independent from the zoom level.

So made this attached image to compare them.

Posted here an improved solution based on this experimenting:
kaleidoscope wallpaper (http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?topic=329.msg3340#msg3340).
