Title: Cann't set precise size to shape
Post by: hk-fellow on November 16, 2018, 05:50:05 AM
Hi.
Is it possible to draw a star with the stroke and exact width/height values? I am trying to do that - I set width and height to 160mm but Inkscape doesn't accept these easy values. Instead, it set values like 159.44, 160.12, etc. Why?

Welcome to the forum!

If you switch from a visual bounding box to geometric bounding box, the stroke will not be counted in the dimensions.  And having the stroke counted is what's causing those odd values.  Here's where to switch.

Edit menu > Preferences > Tools, and tick Geometric Bounding Box
