Title: Why only filling 1/2 of object?
Post by: jim cubie on August 14, 2017, 01:46:28 PM
In the attached file I am trying to fill the 4 quadrants which make up the fifth object to the right with black or gray paint.  I use the F1 tool and select one of the quadrants.  When I try to fill that  quadrant, only half of the quadrant is filled?  Why is this?  How fix? If it is relevant the 4 quadrants were created by drawing 4 bezier lines down and across  a shape like the 4th to the right, and then breaking the lines at nodes.

Like this:

Note your fill has a lowered alpha value, not 255.

And just to add an explanation.  The reason the quadrants weren't being filled is because you did not have a closed path.  Even if you had the end nodes of all the segments precisely on top of each other, it would not have been filled.  A closed path means all the nodes are joined and it is an unbroken path.  And so Lazur's animation shows how to fix them.
