Coolest tip of the day! (Just learned this proofreading on the new manual.)
If you've already drawn an Ellipse, and while it's still the vector shape (not a path), you can position your mouse over one of the square handles, hold Ctrl, and click.
Ta-daaa!

COOL! thanks :) also Iv'e forgotten how to enlarge and keep proprtional while dragging? which key do I use? thanks

Recommend Help menu > Tutorials > Basic, Shapes and Advanced (don't worry, "Advanced" is not really advanced -- it's written for newbies).
